How You Can Help

**VOLUNTEERS NEEDED**

Volunteer Speech Therapists needed to train local teachers/volunteers in Eleuthera and possibly other Family Islands of the Bahamas. EEO covers airfare and accomodation. Contact EEO Director at EEOBahamas@yahoo.com with information on degree, experience, and availability.

Here are some things we need to help us enhance our program and reach the broadest possible audience. If you can get your donations to Florida, we can get them over to the islands! Please contact us for more information.

SCHOOL MATERIALS:

  • we always accept books but we are especially looking for multiple copies (5-10) of low-level high interest books
  • language games
  • workbooks for grades 1-4
  • LeapFrog books and pad CD-Roms of educational software like Jumpstart or Disney games
  • manipulatives
  • TV and VCR
  • tape recorders
  • children's books on tape
  • snack bags (for dried fruit rewards)
  • scrapbooks
  • scotch tape and mounting tape
  • construction paper (8.5 x 11')
  • thick crayons
  • computer speakers
  • a CD-Rom organizer for educational software
  • mousepads
  • general art supplies
OFFICE MATERIALS:
  • photocopier
  • laminating paper (manual, not for machine)
  • pencil sharpeners (electric and manual)
PEOPLE POWER:
  • we're looking for teachers or education professionals to donate their time to come present a relevant seminar to our teachers and parents
  • vans and cars to help us transport individuals to our seminar sites
